Northern Colorado Fires Ed McCaffery

Image
UNC has decided to fire Ed McCaffery after just 2 seasons. McCaffery posted a 6-16 record, however is 2 seasons enough time to turn a program around? If UNC wants a true culture change they will have to invest in a coach 4-5 years minimum. To be fair to the University, I don't know if there are other behind the scenes issues that led to this decision. I will say this, I have seen the University of Northern Colorado facilities and the campus just north of Denver, and it is a beautiful college setting. I feel like they have all the amenities to attract great recruits. Now that the transfer portal is in effect Greeley, Colorado should be a destination site for FCS football in the fall.

FCS PLAYOFFS SET!!

Image
LINK TO FCS PLAYOFF BRACKET The FCS playoffs are set and the top 4 seeds are Sacramento State, Montana State, South Dakota State and North Dakota State. Most people agree with the top 4 seeds, however, there are some questions about Florida A&M, UT Chattanooga, and UT Martin not getting in. Many could also argue Stephen F Austin, Abilene Christian and Mercer. There were alot of good 7-4 teams this year; only a few of the deserving teams were selected for the 2022 playoffs.

Does Sacramento State deserve to be #1

Image
Should Sacramento State be #1? They are still undefeated and beat an FBS team on the road earlier this season, however the real question is can they beat North Dakota State or South Dakota State on a neutral field? What would happen if they play Montana State? Look like we will have to find the answer to that in the playoffs? At this point we haven't seen a team that can stop Asher O'Haras jump leap or Skattebo's aggresive running style. This is why I love FCS football....everything is settled on the field, despite rankings. There will be some amazing Playoff games in 2022. The hornets running game is amazing, however is it the best offense in the FCS?
