  In week 3 SIU escaped SEMO to stay undefeated. The University of Montana hosted division 2 powerhouse Ferris State in a close game. The big story this weekend in FCS football was Sacramento State defeating Stanford and their former head coach Troy Taylor 30-23 on the road. Sacramento State was undefeated during the regular season in 2022. 

  Southern Illinois wins on the road at FBS NIU. Also University of Idaho also got a win over a FBS Team on the road  Saturday. The Vandals blew out Nevada 33-6. In the FCS game of the week South Dakota State hosted Montana State. The game would be a tale of two halves. In the first half Montana State would  dominate and take and take a 10-0 lead in to halftime. However in the second half South Dakota State would Respond and win 20-16. I am sure we may see this game again in the playoffs.

   credit: Houston Chronicle                                Week 1 in the  FCS was a fun one. Montana State made a statement in their home opener. Idaho State played San Diego State tough. Maine only lost by two points to FIU: 12-14. North Alabama got their first-year head coach a win. Eddie George led Tennessee  State into South Bend, IN to take on Notre Dame.  In the PFL Butler headed across the country to take on Montana, the Grizzlies would get the win: 35-20. However, the rivalry game in Houston where Prairie View A &M took on Texas Southern in the Annual Classic was the entertainment of the night for me! Early in the game PV took the lead, yet Texas Southern would come back and take a commanding 34-17 lead.  The game would go to double overtime where Prairie View would win by a field goal: 37-34.   Labor Day weekend is over and week 2 I am ready for you !!
