Chattanooga took sole first place of in the southern conference with a win over Mercer. The Mocs dominated in all phases of the game from start to finish. Outside of Ailym Ford they are a very good team with the ability to score on defense and deep threats at wide reciever. If the Mocs can fisnish strong on the road the next 2 weeks they have a great chance of hosting a playoff game. Hopefully they make a run this year at the FCS title.

I do think Bobby Petrino is a good coach and the right Person for the job,but things in springfield are not going as planned this season. Right now the bears sit at 2-4 and 0-3 in the conference. I think everyone thought after the Performance at Arkansas that Missouri State would roll thru the FCS. However the exact opposite has occured, could it be way to much was put in to the game. Maybe the the team has never rebounded from the loss mentally. This past week Missori State was on a bye. On Saturday they will go on the road to face a tough Northern Iowa team in Cedar Fallls. They finish up at home against Western Illinois and Youngstown State hopefully the Bears can put some wins together and Salvage their season.

In the last 20 years Idaho has bounced around from FCS to FBS. However one thing has remained clear Montana has always been an FCS elite or winning program. In the past 20 years Idaho has had maybe 2 or 3 winning seasons. On the other hand Montana has had a winning season every year except for 2012. The Little Brown Stein went back to Moscow Idaho for the first time since 1999 on Saturday. This is a huge historical win for the Idaho Vandals. Many people were shocked nationally however those familiar with the FCS understand Idaho has an explosive Offense. When first saw the vandals this year vs Drake I was impressed with how coach Jason Eck spread the ball around. The vandals were even behind at one point in that game,but something was different it was like they knew no matter what they were going to win. That is the big difference with this Idaho group "confidence" were as in the past one thing goes wrong and it would create a snowball effect. The complete opposite happ...

Could the patriot league win the FCS title this year ? Holy Cross is 6-0 and averaging over 30 points a game. They have multiple weapons on offense and a great defensive line. The Crusaders have three running backs that are dangerous along with a solid quaterback. Is this the year they make a run in the FCS playoffs Mercer is 5-1 and rolling.They have scored 40+ points three weeks in row. The only loss they have is SEC Auburn. Down the stretch they have 9th ranked Chattanoga and undefeated Jackson State. If they can get thru that stretch 1-1 they have a great shot to do big things in December. If they finish 2-0 vs those top FCS opponents Mercer could shock people in the playoffs.

After a brutal September schedule EWU will play FCS teams only the rest of the season. The eagles (swoop) started off the season with a win vs Tennessee State. Then went on the road to face Pac-12 Oregon. The following week they hosted Montana State the National runner-up. Next they traveled to Gainsville to face Florida on a Sunday. Now this week they go on the road to face Weber State and next week they will host a tought Sacremento State Team that beat FBS Colorado State on the road. If EWU can come up with 7 wins by the end of the season they should be able to make the playoffs.

Touchdown Tommy was out last week vs UC Davis. Which was a smart move being the controversy behind Tua in the NFL. I wonder sometimes if over thinking the situation is helping or causing more injuries. No Official word in Bozeman wether Tommy Mellott will return vs Idaho State or if Sean Chambers will get the nod. However for the Montana State head coach this is a good situation both quaterbacks are capable of leading the bobcats to the FCS Championship game.
